We at Community United Methodist Church are working to make our site www.daytonacommunityumc.org is accessible to people with disabilities.

What web accessibility is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.

Accessibility adjustments on this site

We have adapted this site in accordance with WCAG [2.0 / 2.1 / 2.2 - select relevant option] guidelines, and have made the site accessible to the level of [A / AA / AAA - select relevant option]. This site's contents have been adapted to work with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard use. As part of this effort, we have also:

  • Defined clear heading structures on all of the site’s pages

  • Reduced the use of motion on the site

Declaration of partial compliance with the standard due to third-party content

The accessibility of certain pages on the site depend on content that does not belong to the organization, and instead belongs to the youtube content creators. We therefore declare partial compliance with the standard for some of the pages on this website.

Accessibility arrangements in the organization

At Community United Methodist Church, we believe that all people, regardless of ability, should have access to worship. We have handicap parking on premisis. In addition, we have an elevator that is accessible from the first floor to the sanctuary. We also have ramps in strategic locations to make church service accessible to those in wheelchairs. Large print hymnals are also available. For those who are unable to attend worship in person, we are now livestreaming Sunday's service on facebook.

For over 130 years, Community United Methodist Church has been a presence and force in Daytona Beach, Florida. Even today, the church is in every sense a loving "community" generously making its facility available to many causes: a community which practices the ministry that Jesus Christ calls all Christians to do. It has had, and continues to have, a great impact on those in need: spiritually, physically, and emotionally.
